The Impact of Nutrition on Bone Growth in Osteogenesis Imperfecta

A Kennedy Krieger Institute, duPont Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Study of Nutrition in Osteogenesis Imperfecta

The Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) Program at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, Baltimore, MD, in collaboration with the duPont Hospital for Children, Wilmington, and the Children’s Hospital, Philadelphia, seeks volunteers to participate in a study of basic diets and the effect of nutrition on growth rates and bone mass in children the OI ages 2 to 10 years. Diets will be surveyed to determine deficiencies in bone-related minerals and vitamins, total calorie content and protein content. Nutritional deficiencies will be supplemented for a period of one year. There is no charge for participation.
