Linked Clinical Research Centers Project Luncheon
08.25.2011—On August 25, 2011, the Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) Foundation invited Renee Cohen, Constituent Liasion for Health and Senior Issues for Senator Benjamin Cardin, and Walter Gonzales, Senior Policy Advisor for Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, to the Kennedy Krieger Institute. The Bone and OI Department hosted these distinguished guests for lunch and provided them with information on the Linked Clinical Research Centers (LCRC) Project. The LCRC is a nationwide effort facilitated by the OI Foundation to bring together leading doctors and medical centers from the United States and Canada. Kennedy Krieger Institute is one of six centers participating in the LCRC, which aims to advance standards of care and improve treatment of OI by contribution of patient information to a central database. The guests asked engaging questions that sought not only a more in-depth understanding of the LCRC, but also focused more generally on the research done here at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
